TILEGRIP MAX is a high-performance, fiber-reinforced, deformable cementitious tile adhesive designed for large porcelain and natural stone tiles. With an extended open time and vertical slip resistance (class C2 TE S1), this flexible, waterproof adhesive is ideal for both vertical and horizontal tile installations, including tiles on tiles applications. TILEGRIP MAX can be applied up to 15mm thick on uneven substrates and is compatible with all types of cementitious substrates. It offers excellent flexibility to accommodate deformation between the tile and substrate, along with outstanding resistance to water and weather changes, ensuring long-lasting results.

How to Apply Tilegrip Max
Tilegrip Max is a C2TES1 cementitious adhesive mixed with water and applied with a notched trowel to sound, cured substrates.
- Prepare the surface. All surfaces should be sound, clean, dry and free from loose material, efflorescence, laitance, curing compounds, dirt, oil and grease, with concrete and blocks fully cured. Wet the surface to a saturated surface dry condition; shade or cool hot surfaces with potable water.
- Prime gypsum and anhydrite. Gypsum substrates and anhydrite screeds must be perfectly dry (maximum residual moisture 0.5%), hard and dust-free, and must be primed with Armoprime AC. For tile-over-tile, prime the old tiles with Armoprime Grip.
- Mix. Add the 20 kg bag to 5.6-6.0 liters of clean water and mix with a paddle on a slow-speed drill (200-300 rpm) to a uniform, lump-free consistency. Rest about 5 minutes and remix before use.
- Spread the adhesive. Spread an average 4 mm layer with a notched trowel and sweep a second pass with the notched edge. Only spread what can be tiled within the open time; rework skinned adhesive with the trowel and never wet it.
- Fix the tiles. Press and twist each tile into the wet adhesive for full contact. Back-butter large tiles, outdoor tiles over 900 cm² and tiles in swimming pools.
- Clean, grout and seal. Remove excess adhesive with a damp cloth before it dries. Grout wall joints after 12 hours and floor joints after 24 hours with cementitious or epoxy grout; seal expansion joints with Megaseal PU polyurethane sealant.
- Protect. Keep tiles away from running water or rain for at least 24 hours and direct sunlight for at least 5 days. Swimming pools and basins can be filled after 14 days.
- Clean tools. Clean tools with water before the product hardens; hardened material can only be removed mechanically.
