LAVAFER is a two-component, cementitious corrosion-inhibiting slurry designed to protect steel reinforcement in concrete repair systems. Part A contains hydraulic binders and additives, while Part B is a polymer emulsion enriched with migrating corrosion inhibitors. When applied, it forms a dense, water-resistant barrier that provides strong anodic passivation and long-term corrosion protection. LAVAFER enhances adhesion between steel and concrete and serves as an effective primer for repair mortars, especially within the MATEX system. It significantly extends the service life of reinforced structures exposed to aggressive environments, making it an essential component in high-performance concrete rehabilitation and protection strategies.
Lavafer is a two-component cementitious slurry brushed onto cleaned reinforcing steel before repair mortar is placed.

Standards and test methods as referenced in the Lavafer Technical Data Sheet. Values in the TDS are typical laboratory results under standard conditions.
2.0 kg of Lavafer covers 1.10 square meters at 1.0 mm thickness. Coverage is approximate and depends on site conditions.
Pot life is 40-45 minutes at 25°C, and the mixture must be applied within 45 minutes of preparation.
Allow the applied coating to cure for 4 hours before applying the repair mortars. If a second coat is needed, apply it within 24 hours of the first.
Lavafer is applied from +5°C to +35°C.
It is supplied as a two-component kit: 1.5 kg powder in a plastic bag and 0.5 kg liquid in a bottle. Shelf life is 12 months from production date in unopened original packing.
