    Two Part Elastomeric Cementitious Waterproofing Coating

    HYDROCEM 2K FLEX is a high-performance, two-component, acrylic-modified flexible cementitious waterproofing coating designed for water-retaining structures. It consists of special cements, bonding agents, fillers, additives, and a water-based synthetic acrylic co-polymer. HYDROCEM 2K FLEX is supplied pre-packaged for easy on-site mixing with a slow-speed drill and paddle. It can be applied by brush, trowel, or spray, offering excellent mechanical strength, flexibility, and chemical resistance. It bonds securely to green or damp concrete, is vapor permeable, UV resistant, and suitable for potable water applications, making it ideal for both new and existing structures.

    How to Apply Hydrocem 2k flex

    Hydrocem 2K Flex is a pre-measured two-component kit mixed on site and brushed on in at least two coats.

    1. Prepare the substrate. Surfaces must be sound, clean and free from loose material, efflorescence, laitance, curing compounds, dirt, oil and grease, and concrete must be cured for at least 14 days. Level and smooth the surface, remove hard laitance by captive or sand blasting, repair degraded concrete, and treat exposed reinforcement with Lavafer.
    2. Form fillets and treat cracks. Create a 45° fillet at wall-floor junctions with Lavarep F40 or Lavarep F60. Fill superficial cracks with cementitious repair mortar or a paste of Hydrocem 2K Flex, fill dynamic penetrating cracks with flexible injection resins, and plug concentrated seepage with Hydroplug.
    3. Pre-wet the surface. Saturate the substrate with clean water until a saturated surface dry (SSD) condition is reached.
    4. Mix. Pour the liquid (part B) into the container and slowly add the powder (part A). Mix with a low-speed mixer (300-400 rpm) and paddle for 3-5 minutes until homogeneous and lump free, then leave for 4 minutes to release entrapped air.
    5. Treat joints in tanks and pools. For internal waterproofing of water tanks and swimming pools, fix Hydrojoint Tape at joints and penetrations. Brush a strip of Hydrocem 2K Flex 75 mm wider than the tape on both sides, embed the tape with a steel spatula, and let the strip dry before coating the whole area.
    6. Apply the coats. Brush on at least two coats in opposite directions, no more than 1 mm per coat, letting the first harden sufficiently before the second. A build-up of 3.4 kg/m² gives a 2.00 mm membrane. Where movement or cracking is expected, embed reinforcing fiber mesh in the first coat while wet and fully cover it with the second.
    7. Protect, cure and clean. Protect from rain and water spillage for the first 24 hours and shade the work area in peak summer heat. In drinking water tanks, wash and sponge-scrub the coating thoroughly before use. Clean tools with water before the product hardens.

    Is Hydrocem 2K Flex safe for drinking water tanks?

    The TDS describes it as non-toxic and suitable for drinking water, with a non-toxic result under BS 6920. Wash the cured coat thoroughly with plenty of water while scrubbing with a sponge before using the tank.

    What is the crack bridging and elongation of Hydrocem 2K Flex?

    Crack bridging at breakage is >1.0 mm (BS EN 1062) and elongation is 40% unbonded (ASTM D412).

    What is the coverage of Hydrocem 2K Flex?
