Hydrocem 2k Flex Turbo
Rapid Drying Two Part Elastomeric Cementitious Waterproofing Coating
HYDROCEM 2K FLEXTurbo is a rapid-drying, two-component, elastomeric cementitious waterproofing coating designed for water-retaining structures. It combines a blend of special cements, bonding agents, selected fillers, and a water-based synthetic acrylic co-polymer to create a high-performance waterproofing slurry. Easily applied horizontally or vertically, HYDROCEM 2K FLEXTurbo bonds strongly to concrete and masonry, even when damp. Once cured, it forms a highly flexible, breathable membrane resistant to chlorides, sulphates, UV rays, and carbon dioxide. Water testing can be performed just 12 hours after application. Non-toxic and suitable for potable water applications.

How to Apply Hydrocem 2k Flex Turbo
Hydrocem 2K Flex Turbo is a rapid drying two-component kit mixed on site and brushed on in at least two coats; water testing can follow after 12 hours.
- Prepare the substrate. Surfaces must be sound, clean and free from loose material, efflorescence, laitance, curing compounds, dirt, oil and grease, and concrete must be cured for at least 14 days. Level and smooth the surface, remove hard laitance by captive or sand blasting, repair degraded concrete, and treat exposed reinforcement with Lavafer.
- Form fillets and treat cracks. Create a 45° fillet at wall-floor junctions with Lavarep F40 or Lavarep F60. Fill superficial cracks with cementitious repair mortar or a paste of Hydrocem 2K Flex Turbo, fill dynamic penetrating cracks with flexible injection resins, and plug concentrated seepage with Hydroplug.
- Pre-wet the surface. Saturate the substrate with clean water until a saturated surface dry (SSD) condition is reached.
- Mix. Pour the liquid (part B) into the container and slowly add the powder (part A). Mix with a low-speed mixer (300-400 rpm) and paddle for 3-5 minutes until homogeneous and lump free, then leave for 4 minutes to release entrapped air.
- Treat joints in tanks and pools. For internal waterproofing of water tanks and swimming pools, fix Hydrojoint Tape at joints and penetrations. Brush a strip of Hydrocem 2K Flex Turbo 75 mm wider than the tape on both sides, embed the tape with a steel spatula, and let the strip dry before coating the whole area.
- Reinforce corners and drains. Fix fiber mesh at corners, drains and all floor or wall penetrations: 10 cm wide mesh at wall/floor corners and 15×15 cm squares at drains and penetrations. Lay the mesh into the wet first coat, press it with a roller, cover it fully with more mix, and once dry apply a second coat to the entire area.
- Apply the coats. Brush on at least two coats in opposite directions, no more than 1 mm per coat, letting the first harden sufficiently before the second. A build-up of 3.2 kg/m² gives a 2.00 mm membrane. Finish with a smooth spatula a few minutes after application if required.
- Cure, test and tile. Water testing can be done once the last coat has cured for at least 12 hours. Allow 12 hours before fixing ceramic tiles and 24 hours before large, heavy tiles, using a flexible adhesive such as Tilegrip WP (mixed with Elastogrip latex where high flexibility is needed). In drinking water tanks, wash and sponge-scrub the coating thoroughly before use. Clean tools with water before the product hardens.

Frequently Asked Questions
How soon can Hydrocem 2K Flex Turbo be water tested?
Water testing can be carried out once the last coat has cured for a minimum of 12 hours; the technical table gives 12-24 hours. Actual curing time depends on air temperature, substrate porosity, humidity and temperature.
When can tiles be fixed on Hydrocem 2K Flex Turbo?
Allow 12 hours of curing before fixing ceramic tiles and 24 hours before fixing large, heavy tiles. Use a flexible tile adhesive such as Tilegrip WP, mixed with Elastogrip latex where high flexibility is needed.
What is the drying time and recoating interval of Hydrocem 2K Flex Turbo?
Drying time is 2 hours and the recoating interval is 3 hours. Pot life after mixing is 40 minutes at 25°C.
What is the coverage of Hydrocem 2K Flex Turbo?
Approximately 1.6 kg per square meter at 1.0 mm thickness. A build-up of 3.2 kg/m² gives a 2.00 mm membrane.
Is Hydrocem 2K Flex Turbo suitable for potable water tanks?
The TDS describes it as non-toxic and suitable for drinking water. Wash the applied coat thoroughly with plenty of water while scrubbing with a sponge before using the tank.
