    Cold Applied Bituminous Waterproofing Emulsion

    HYDROBIT is a cold-applied, water-based, non-fibrated bituminous emulsion designed for reliable surface protection and waterproofing. Formulated with selected bitumen and special additives, it delivers a smooth, easy-to-apply coating suitable for concrete, asphalt, metal, roofing felt, and similar substrates whether flat, sloping, or vertical. HYDROBIT dries into a flexible, seamless membrane that is solvent-free, environmentally friendly, and vapor permeable, allowing substrates to breathe while minimizing chloride penetration. Its non-slumping, paintable consistency makes application simple and efficient, even on uneven surfaces. Ideal for both new construction and maintenance work, it ensures durable waterproofing protection without the need for complicated installation methods.

    How to Apply Hydrobit

    Hydrobit is a ready-to-use cold applied bitumen emulsion, normally applied in two coats by roller, brush, trowel or spray.

    1. Prepare the surface. All surfaces should be sound, clean, dry and free from loose material, efflorescence, laitance, curing compounds, dirt, oil and grease. Cut and reseal blisters in asphalt or roofing, and remove loose chippings. Old concrete and steel must be structurally sound.
    2. Prime porous surfaces. Prime porous surfaces such as concrete and fiber reinforced cement with Hydrobit diluted 1:2 with clean water.
    3. Mix. Shake the barrel well to mix any settled material before application.
    4. Apply the first coat. Apply by roller, trowel, brush or spray at 3 to 5 m² per liter per coat. Hydrobit may be applied to damp but not wet surfaces; dampen brushes before and during use, and in hot, dry weather dampen the surface.
    5. Apply the second coat. Once the first coat is completely dry, apply the second coat at right angles to the first to avoid air bubbles. Two coats are recommended for roller or brush application.
    6. Sand blinding (optional). To provide a key for tiles on screed or plaster, or protection against foot traffic, broadcast clean sand onto the second coat while it is still tacky.
    7. Clean tools. Clean all tools with clean water before the product hardens.
