    Water Based Rubberized Cold Applied Bituminous Coating

    HYDROBIT RBE is a cold-applied, water-based, non-fibrated bituminous coating designed for reliable waterproofing and surface protection. It combines selected bitumen with special additives, creating an easy-to-apply emulsion that dries into a firm, seamless, and flexible membrane. HYDROBIT RBE is ideal for protecting concrete, asphalt, metal, roofing felt, and similar substrates. It is vapor permeable, allowing surfaces to breathe while offering excellent resistance to chloride penetration, mild acids, and alkalis. Solvent-free, asbestos-free, and easy to apply even on damp surfaces, it ensures durable protection without compromising on flexibility. Compatible with all bituminous products, it is perfect for general waterproofing needs.

    How to Apply Hydrobit Rbe

    Hydrobit RBE is a ready-to-use water based rubberized bitumen emulsion, normally applied in two coats by roller, brush, trowel or spray.

    1. Prepare the surface. All surfaces should be sound, clean, dry and free from loose material, efflorescence, laitance, curing compounds, dirt, oil and grease. Cut and reseal blisters in asphalt or roofing and remove loose chippings. Old concrete and steel must be structurally sound.
    2. Prime porous surfaces. Prime porous surfaces such as concrete and fiber reinforced cement with Hydrobit RBE diluted 1:2 with clean water.
    3. Mix. Hydrobit RBE is a single-component, ready-to-use emulsion. Shake the barrel well to mix any settled material before application.
    4. Apply the first coat. Apply by roller, trowel, brush or spray at 3 to 5 m² per liter per coat. It may be applied to damp but not wet surfaces; dampen brushes before and during use, and in hot, dry weather dampen the surface.
    5. Apply the second coat. Once the first coat is completely dry, apply the second coat at right angles to the first to avoid air bubbles. Two coats are recommended for roller or brush application.
    6. Sand blinding (optional). To provide a key for tiles on screed or plaster, or protection against foot traffic, broadcast clean sand onto the second coat while it is still tacky.
    7. Backfill below-ground work. On footings, Hydrobit RBE can be applied to green concrete immediately after removing the shutter, acting as a curing membrane. Backfill only once the final coat is totally dry, without damaging the coating.
    8. Clean tools. Clean all tools with clean water before the product hardens.
