    Rubberized Cold Applied Bituminous Waterproofing Coating

    HYDROBIT RB10 is a rubberized, cold-applied, water-based bituminous coating ideal for versatile waterproofing and protective applications. Formulated with selected bitumen, special additives, and water, it delivers a flexible, seamless barrier that protects concrete, asphalt, metal, roofing felt, and similar surfaces. HYDROBIT RB10 is vapor permeable, allowing the substrate to breathe while reducing chloride penetration. It is solvent-free, asbestos-free, and can be applied easily even on damp surfaces with a paintable consistency. Highly resistant to mild acids and alkalis, it’s compatible with all bituminous products and can serve as a waterproofing layer, protective coating, or curing membrane for concrete substructures.

    How to Apply Hydrobit Rb10

    Hydrobit RB10 is a ready-to-use rubberized bitumen emulsion, normally applied in two coats by roller, brush, trowel or spray.

    1. Prepare the surface. All surfaces should be sound, clean, dry and free from loose material, efflorescence, laitance, curing compounds, dirt, oil and grease. Cut and reseal blisters in asphalt or roofing and remove loose chippings. Old concrete and steel must be structurally sound.
    2. Prime porous surfaces. Prime porous surfaces with Hydrobit diluted 1:2 with clean water.
    3. Mix. Hydrobit RB10 is a single-component, ready-to-use emulsion. Shake the barrel well to mix any settled material before application.
    4. Apply the first coat. Apply by roller, trowel, brush or spray at 3 to 5 m² per liter per coat. It may be applied to damp but not wet surfaces; dampen brushes before and during use, and in hot, dry weather dampen the surface.
    5. Apply the second coat. Once the first coat is completely dry, apply the second coat at right angles to the first to avoid air bubbles. Two coats are recommended for roller or brush application.
    6. Sand blinding (optional). To provide a key for tiles on screed or plaster, or protection against foot traffic, broadcast clean sand onto the second coat while it is still tacky.
    7. Backfill below-ground work. On footings, Hydrobit RB10 can be applied to green concrete immediately after removing the shutter, acting as a curing membrane. Backfill only once the final coat is totally dry, without damaging the coating.
    8. Clean tools. Clean all tools with clean water before the product hardens.
