How to Apply Decofloor Cm10
Decofloor CM10 is poured at 5 to 10 mm over an epoxy-primed, quartz-keyed subfloor, spiked-rolled, and sealed after about 24 hours.
- Prepare the substrate. Concrete should have been placed for at least 28 days, have a moisture content below 5%, and be sound, clean, dry and free from loose material, efflorescence, laitance, curing compounds, dirt, oil and grease. Remove contamination or laitance by grinding, captive blasting or sand blasting, and repair with a MATEX concrete repair product where needed.
- Prime. Apply a coat of Armoprime WB water based epoxy primer to seal the substrate and act as a bonding agent. Lightly broadcast Quartz no. 1 over the wet primer as a key for the topping.
- Color the water. Add the color to 5.2 liters of water per 20 kg bag and stir with a hand stirrer for 1–2 minutes, making sure no color concentrate is left at the bottom; do not use a power mixer for this step. Re-stir immediately before adding the powder.
- Mix. Add the full bag of powder and mix with a low-speed mixer (300–400 rpm) for 2–3 minutes, then rest for 2 minutes. Do not mix partial bags, add extra water or add any additives, and keep the same water percentage for every mix.
- Pour and spread. Pour onto the primed subfloor, starting in one corner with a continuous stream along one edge and back-lapping quickly. Spread with an adjusted spreader or hand trowel, use a stand-up gauging tool to control thickness, and let it self-level; the product can also be placed with an automatic mixing pump.
- De-aerate and protect. Immediately roll the surface with a spiked roller to release trapped air. No curing is required in normal conditions, but protect it from air currents, direct sunlight and strong drying wind.
- Seal. Apply a high-quality sealer approximately 24 hours after installation to preserve the finish and avoid stains and dirt pick-up; contact MATEX Technical services for the recommended sealer.
