    How to Apply Colortec Prima

Colortec Prima is a single-component colored grout, dry-blended, mixed with water and worked into clean, dry joints with a rubber or plastic float.

    1. Prepare the joints. Joints must be clean, dry and free from loose material and dirt. Remove spacers and debris, clean dust with a wet sponge without leaving standing water, and check the tiles are fully set per the adhesive’s data sheet.
    2. Mix. Dry-blend the powder first to avoid color variation from pigment settling. Add the bag contents to 2.6-2.8 liters of clean water, mix lump-free, rest 5 minutes and remix. Elastogrip can replace the water fully or partially (1:1 water to latex) for extra waterproofing and flexibility.
    3. Fill the joints. Spread with a rubber-sided or plastic trowel and press the grout firmly into the joints for full coverage.
    4. Strike off excess. Hold the float at 90° and pull it at 45° diagonally across the joints to remove excess without pulling grout out.
    5. Clean the tiles. After 15 minutes, clean the tile faces with a clean damp sponge. After complete hardening, clean the whole tile surface with a dry cloth.
    6. Seal movement joints. Do not fill expansion and movement joints with Colortec Prima; use a suitable flexible sealant from the MATEX range.
    7. Clean tools. Clean tools with water before the product dries. Hardened material can only be removed mechanically.
