Armoprime AS water based acrylic primer and moisture barrier by MATEX, 20 liter jerry can

    Armoprime AS

Single Component Modified Acrylic Resin Dispersion Primer

ARMOPRIME AS is a single-component, water-based, multi-purpose acrylic primer and moisture barrier designed for both internal and external wall and floor applications. It is ideal for priming absorbent mineral substrates such as plaster, plasterboard, aerated concrete, and brickwork before tiling, wallpapering, or applying finishes. ARMOPRIME AS acts as a reliable moisture barrier, helping to stabilize surfaces and enhance adhesion. It offers excellent penetration into most substrates, improving surface integrity and preventing premature coating failure. Easy to apply and quick drying, it is a high-quality solution for preparing surfaces in residential, commercial, and light industrial settings where durability and performance are required.

    How to Apply Armoprime AS

Armoprime AS is a ready-to-use water based acrylic primer brushed or rolled onto absorbent substrates and allowed to cure before the next layer.

    1. Prepare the surface. Surfaces should be sound, clean, dry and free from loose material, efflorescence, laitance, curing compounds, dirt, oil, grease and anything that may impair adhesion, with concrete cured at least 28 days. New cement screeds must not exceed 4% moisture, and anhydrite or gypsum screeds 0.5%; remove old adhesive residues before laying natural stone.
    2. Shake. Armoprime AS is single component and ready to use. Shake the container to make sure there is no settlement.
    3. Apply. Apply a rich coat by brush or roller so it penetrates without remaining in excess or forming puddles. On very absorbent substrates such as aerated concrete, the first coat can be diluted 1:1 with water, and two coats applied.
    4. Let it cure. Do not apply a second coat until the first has completely cured. Apply subsequent coatings once the primer is cured (scratch proof); drying time is approx. 1–2 hours and minimum overcoat time 30 minutes.
    5. Clean tools. Clean tools and equipment with water before the material hardens; hardened material can only be removed mechanically.

    Frequently Asked Questions

What is the coverage of Armoprime AS?

Armoprime AS covers approximately 80 to 150 ml per square meter, depending on substrate porosity. Coverage is approximate and subject to site conditions.

How long does Armoprime AS take to dry?

Drying time is approx. 1–2 hours, with a minimum overcoat time of 30 minutes. Apply subsequent coatings only once the primer has cured and is scratch proof.

What substrates can Armoprime AS be used on?

Armoprime AS primes plaster, plaster slabs, gypsum fiber boards, plasterboard, aerated concrete, concrete, asphalt, render and brickwork before tiling and wallpapering, on floors and walls, internally and externally. It is also the primer for Hydrolastic AS777 on porous substrates.

    Can Armoprime AS be diluted?

Yes. It can be diluted 1:1 with water for the first coat on very absorbent substrates such as aerated concrete.

What is the application temperature of Armoprime AS?

Application temperature is +5°C to +40°C. Above 35°C, shade the working area and protect fresh material from direct sun and strong drying wind.
