Armoprime AC acrylic roughening and adhesion promoter primer by MATEX, 20 liter jerry can

    Armoprime Ac

Single Component Acrylic Based Roughening and Adhesion Promoter Primer

ARMOPRIME AC is a high-quality, single-component, water-based acrylic primer designed to deeply penetrate and waterproof a variety of surfaces, enhancing adhesion for plaster, ceramic tiles, wallpaper, and other finishes. It effectively closes pores to prevent dusting while providing excellent bonding to concrete, timber, granolithic screeds, masonry, paving, and mild steel. ARMOPRIME AC also offers resistance to diluted acids and alkalis, making it a reliable choice for both internal and external applications. It’s easy-to-apply formulation ensures integral waterproofing, long-term durability, and superior surface preparation, making it an essential primer for achieving high-performance coatings and finishes.

    How to Apply Armoprime Ac

Armoprime AC is a ready-to-use water based acrylic primer brushed, rolled or sprayed onto the substrate, with the next layer applied while the primer is still tacky.

    1. Prepare the surface. Surfaces should be sound, clean, dry and free from loose material, efflorescence, laitance, curing compounds, dirt, oil and grease. Concrete substrates should be fully cured for at least 28 days.
    2. Shake. Armoprime AC is single component and ready to use. Shake the container to make sure there is no settlement.
    3. Apply. Apply a rich coat by brush, roller or spray machine at 3–4 m²/Lt depending on substrate porosity, so that it penetrates and does not remain in excess on the surface. Apply two coats on very porous substrates; the recoat interval is approx. 30 minutes.
    4. Apply the next layer while tacky. Start plastering, tiling or laying other coverings immediately while the primer film is tacky and before it dries.
    5. Clean tools. Clean tools and equipment with water before the material hardens; hardened material can only be removed mechanically.

    Frequently Asked Questions

What is Armoprime AC used for?

Armoprime AC is a primer before self-levelling or fluid mortars, levelling compounds and cement-based flooring, a roughening and bonding layer before tile adhesive or plaster, and a sealer and bonding primer on AAC blocks, porous surfaces and gypsum or cement boards. It also acts as a vapor barrier against capillary humidity.

What is the coverage of Armoprime AC?

The TDS gives an application rate of 3–4 m² per liter depending on substrate porosity, and a coverage of approximately 5–6 m² per liter. Very porous substrates need two coats.

How long should Armoprime AC dry before tiling or plastering?

It should not fully dry: start plastering, tiling or other coverings immediately while the primer film is tacky. The recoat interval between primer coats is approx. 30 minutes.

Can Armoprime AC be used outdoors?

Yes. Armoprime AC is for indoor and outdoor applications. Do not apply where ambient temperatures are below 5°C; application temperature is +5°C to +40°C.

What packaging and shelf life does Armoprime AC have?

Armoprime AC is supplied in 20 liter jerry cans and can be used within 12 months of production date if stored unopened in dry conditions away from direct sunlight.
