ARMOLITE 1500 is a pre-blended, lightweight cementitious screed designed to reduce floor and roof loading while providing a durable monolithic topping. It offers reliable strength for normal-duty floors and roofing applications, with thicknesses ranging from 50 mm to 100 mm. Its low weight makes it ideal for areas with structural load restrictions, while excellent bond strength and minimal shrinkage ensure stable, crack-resistant performance. ARMOLITE 1500 is trowel-applied, accepts subsequent finishes such as membranes, coatings, and tiles, and contributes to improved noise and heat insulation. As a single-component, environmentally friendly mortar, it is easy to apply internally or externally for foot-trafficked areas.

How to Apply Armolite 1500
Armolite 1500 is laid in bays over a saturated surface dry or primed substrate at not less than 50 mm, then leveled and wet-cured.
- Prepare the substrate. Surfaces should be sound, clean, dry and free from loose material, efflorescence, laitance, curing compounds, dirt, oil and grease, and concrete floors should be cured for at least 14 days. Respect movement joints in the main structure and divide the area into bays using wood or steel guides fixed to the required level.
- Dampen or prime. Bring the substrate to a saturated surface dry (SSD) condition with clean water. On highly porous surfaces, apply a rich coat of Armoprime AC at 6–8 m² per liter depending on substrate porosity.
- Mix. Pour 7–7.25 liters of water per 50 kg bag into a suitable container, preferably wide and shallow, then add the powder. Mix with a low-speed drill and paddle for a minimum of 3 minutes, let the mix stand for 4 minutes and re-stir before use. Do not add sand or cement.
- Place and level. Empty the mixed screed onto the substrate and spread it evenly with a flat steel or wooden float, mixing enough to cover the area and avoid multiple casting. Keep the screed thickness at not less than 50 mm and level or form falls with a steel or timber straight edge.
- Cure. Avoid rapid evaporation: cover the screed with plastic sheet fixed over wet hessian for 3 days, or apply a suitable curing compound. In summer, cover the working area to prevent direct sun effects.
- Apply finishes. Floor coverings or waterproofing membranes can be applied after 7 days of casting.
